To see our complaints response time on a monthly basis, please visit our regular performance indicators page. You can also access a summary of the complaints report for 2010-11.

We thoroughly investigate each and every complaint, and provide detailed feedback to the complainant. In addition, the complaints are shared with the doctors, nurses and other staff involved in the patient's care so that we can learn lessons and keep improving our services. Please see our complaints procedure for more details.

in 2010-11, 700,000 patients were cared for by our hospitals. Whilst we take every complaint seriously, it's important to remember that the vast majority of our patients are extremely happy with the care we provide and, as a result, we receive thousands of compliment letters. Read a selection of compliments here.
