Environment
Every day, the Trust:

produces 2.7 tons of general/domestic waste;

produces 1.9 tons of clinical waste;

produces 0.2 tons of confidential waste;

recycles one ton of waste (cardboard, office paper, wood, metal, toners, plastic bottles and food);

spends £254 on disposing of general waste;

spends £720 on disposing of clinical waste.

Infection control
In 2003-04, the Trust recorded 88 cases of MRSA (bacteraemia). By 2009-10, that number had fallen to 31 - a reduction of 65%.
Cases of C. difficile were cut from 268 in 2007-08 to 112 in 2009-10, a reduction of 58%. Prior to 2007-08, infections of C. difficile were recorded in a different way, meaning data prior to this is not comparable.
