The Trust is made up of a number of clinical and non-clinical directorates, which are led, on a day-to-day basis, by a team of executive directors.
In addition, there is a Trust Executive Committee and Trust Board.
Trust Board
The Trust Board, which is chaired by the Trust Chairman, is ultimately responsible for setting the strategy for the Trust and the overall performance of the Trust.
The Board also has a number of committees, which focus on specific areas of work.
Trust Executive Committee
Chaired by the Chief Executive, the main purpose of the Trust Executive Committee is:

Manage the clinical and non clinical services on behalf of the Trust Board ensuring safe services for patients;

Resolve operational performance issues ensuring that the Trust operates safely, effectively and efficiently and in a patient focussed way;

Be responsible for the delivery and performance management of financial performance issues;

Set the direction of travel for the organisation through making major operational and strategic decisions not reserved to the Board and the proposing and refining of issues and recommendations on matters reserved to the Board; and

Ensure there is an effective business-planning process in place.

Clinical directorates
The clinical services of the Trust are organised into five clinical directorates, which each contain a range of specialties. The directorates are:
Each clinical directorate is managed by a Clinical Director, a Head of Nursing and a General Manager.
Roles and responsibilities
Clinical Directors
Clinical Directors are senior doctors who take on the leadership of their directorate. They will continue to treat patients, but commit a certain amount of their working week to running the directorate and the way that it works with other clinical and non-clinical directorates.
Working with the Medical Director and Deputy Medical Directors, they are also responsible for the performance of doctors within their directorate, helping ensure they meet the best possible standards in the way that they treat patients.
Heads of Nursing
Heads of Nursing are senior nurses who work with their Clinical Director and General Manager to ensure their directorate runs as smoothly as possible.
Working with the Director of Nursing and Deputy Nursing Directors, they are also responsible for all nurses within their directorate, helping them to meet the standards of care that patients expect.
General Managers
General Managers are senior operational managers who work with their Clinical Director and Head of Nursing to ensure their directorate is achieving the best possible standards.
Working with the Directors of Operations and Deputy Directors of Operations, they are also responsible for operational staff within their directorate.
