Autoimmune diseases

Autoimmune diseases are caused by antibodies attacking healthy tissues and organs in your body by mistake. Antibodies are cells that are usually excellent news for a body. They attack foreign and potentially dangerous cells like viruses and bacteria to help you recover from infections. Unfortunately, if you have an autoimmune disease, the antibodies in your immune system are over-active and attack the wrong things. This results in autoimmune diseases like the ones listed below. If you can’t find your autoimmune disease listed, here are a few charities that support people with the full range of autoimmune diseases.
