The postgraduate centres at Epsom and St Helier hospitals are primarily concerned with the education of junior doctors, especially in the foundation years, i.e. the first two years of their training.
We arrange the teaching programmes, assessment and supervision necessary to ensure that these doctors are equipped with the skills they need for the modern NHS. We also monitor the progression of all junior doctors in the trust and offer them all necessary guidance and support.
The postgraduate centres have fully equipped lecture theatres and meeting rooms which provide venues for individual specialty teaching programmes, Trust statutory and mandatory training, and for meetings, seminars, courses and conferences organised in-house or by outside groups. Meetings can be video conferenced between the two sites and other trusts.
Both postgraduate centres run GP vocational training day release schemes; both also organise educational meetings (on Tuesdays) and updates for GPs in their respective areas.
St Helier runs a general lecture programme on Thursday lunchtimes for hospital doctors and other health professionals.
Full details of this programme and all other events are available from the postgraduate centres.
