Undergraduate education at Epsom Hospital

Located on the second floor of Wells Wing, the undergraduate education centre at Epsom Hospital combines student teaching rooms with administrative offices and communal student areas.

The centre is located next to the medicallLibrary and the postgraduate education centre, which combined, allows the students to benefit from a variety of study and learning opportunities.

The centre comprises of:

  • Two teaching rooms

  • Seminar room for 30 people

  • Two bedside teaching areas with extensive array of clinical equipment like models, suturing and blood taking

  • Dedicated website for online teaching and information

  • Full access to postgraduate medical centre and medical library

  • Dedicated student common room with computers and internet access

  • Co-ordinator's office

  • Clinical teaching fellow office

  • Refreshment and communal area

  • Dedicated locker bays

St George's University of London

The Trust is proud of its strong affiliation with St George's University of London Medical School and its committed approach of clinical educational training for both 4yr and 5yr MBBS students.

Epsom currently accept third, fourth and final year students for attachments in general medicine, general surgery, obstetric and gynaecology, paediatrics and orthopaedic surgery.

Accommodation is available to all students completing final year attachments and any residential query should be directed in the first instance to the undergraduate co-ordinator.

Imperial College London

Students enrolled with the Imperial College medical programme complete 3-weekly attachments in general medicine and emergency medicine (A&E).

Accommodation is available to all Imperial College students on placement. Any residential query should be directed in the first instance to the undergraduate co-ordinator.

International students

Epsom Hospital is affiliated with various overseas medical schools. The department currently accept medical students who have completed their USLME Part 1 exams from the American University of the Caribbean (AUC) the Allied Institute of Medicine (AIM) and the University of Seychelles Allied Institute of Medicine (USAIM).

Students who chose to complete their clinical core rotations with us follow the following curriculum:

  • Internal medicine: 12 weeks (AUC/USAIM) 9wks (AIM)

  • General surgery: 12 weeks (AUC/USAIM) 9wks (AIM)

  • Paediatrics: 6 weeks (AUC/USAIM) 9wks (AIM)

  • OBGYN: 6 weeks (AUC/USAIM) 7wks (AIM)

  • Psychiatry: 6 weeks (AIM/AUC/USAIM)

After the core rotations, students have the option to complete various clinical attachments (length varies between three and eight weeks - within the following specialities:
