  • Annual Public Meeting 2011 Matthew Hopkins, Chief ExecutiveEvery September, the Trust Board presents its account of the previous year's activities at the Annual Public Meeting. The Board also outlines its plans for the forthcoming year and beyond.
  • Exhibition of latest plans for St Helier redevelopment Artist's impression of St Helier HospitalLocal people, patients and the public are being invited to give their opinion on the latest designs for the redevelopment of St Helier Hospital.
  • Public foundation trust meetings Two further meetings have been arranged so that members of the public can learn more about how Epsom, Sutton and St Helier hospitals intend to achieve foundation trust status. This will see the hospitals de-merge and merge with others.
  • Carol singing at the Ashley Shopping Centre The Epsom Medical Equipment Fund has now finalised their carol singing programme at the Ashley Shopping Centre in Epsom.
  • Find out more about life-saving treatment On 19 December 2011, a special event at St Helier Hospital aims to give people a real insight into the work of the hospital's busy A&E (accident and emergency) department, as well as how it links in with other nearby hospitals to provide emergency treatment.
  • World Kidney Day 8 March, 8am - 9.30pm. Bentall Shopping Centre, Kingston-upon-Thames
  • Annual Public Meeting 2010 John DaveyEvery September, the Trust Board presents its account of the previous year's activities at the Annual Public Meeting. The Board also outlines its plans for the forthcoming year and beyond.
  • Independent living sessions The Cancer Information and Support Centre at St Helier Hospital, where local cancer patients and their loved ones can go for practical advice, emotional support and complementary therapies, is hosting a series of events to promote independent living.
  • Bingo evening All the usual fun of their regular bingo sessions but in the evening. The charity raffle is supporting the Epsom Medical Equipment Fund.
  • Mannequin parade House of Fraser (in support of the Mayor of Epsom and Ewell's Charity Appeal) will be holding a mannequin parade on 2 December at 7pm on the first floor of Dickins and Jones, The Ashley Centre, Epsom.
  • Carols by candlelight Enjoy a festive sing-along on 17 December, 5pm - 7pm at Orchard House in Sutton.
  • Annual Public Meeting 2009 Peter ColesEvery September, the Board presents its account of the year's activities at the Annual Public Meeting. Staff, patients and other local stakeholders are welcome to attend the meeting and listen to the presentation.
  • Barn Dance in aid of Epsom Medical Equipment Fund This barn dance in aid of the Epsom Medical Equipment Fund on 24 March 2012 is supported by the National Counties Building Society.
  • Informal open evening As one of the Trust's non-executive directors leaves the organisation to move overseas, an informal open evening has been arranged at Epsom Hospital for people who may be interested in the vacancy.
  • Dine with the Mayor of Epsom and Ewell On 17 January, people will have a chance to dine with the Mayor of Epsom and Ewell at Il Ponte. This is not the usual charity meal - the Epsom Medical Equipment Fund is offering a quality 'a la carte' meal at an excellent Italian restaurant: Il Ponte in Epsom's Ebbisham Centre.
  • Home birth workshops Maria Mills ShawA midwife who specialises in home births at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is running special workshops so that local parents-to-be can find out more about having their baby at home.
  • Burns Night supper to support renal research Join a traditional three-course Burns Night supper on 28 January in Chipstead and help raise funds for the South West Thames Kidney Fund and kidney research.
  • Breastfeeding Awareness Week 10-16 May Sue Taylor, Infant Feeding Advisor for the TrustThe Trust's breastfeeding experts along with the National Childcare Trust, health visitors and the La Leche League will be hosting road shows in Sutton and Epsom. The team hope to increase awareness of the benefits that breastfeeding brings and the support that hospitals can offer new mums to help them to breastfeed.
  • Charity buffet dinner This dinner at Jimmy Spices in Epsom will help to support the work of the Epsom Medical Equipment Fund.
  • Charity duck race in aid of the children's ward at Epsom Hospital Ducks are available from either Casey ward, the peadiatric A&E department at Epsom or Ewell Court post office. There will be prizes for the first six winners and three best dressed ducks.
  • Give blood Please give blood - you could save someone's life. Donate on 28 January, 9am - 12noon and 2pm - 4.30pm at St Helier Hospital
  • Sponsored Duck Race Get one of these ducks for the duck raceA sponsored rubber duck race in aid of the Epsom Medical Equipment Fund and the 1st Ewell Court Scouts takes place on 7 May at 2pm. The event takes place at Ewell Court, Kingston Road in Ewell where the ducks will be released at the Hogsmill stepping stones.
  • Your chance to quiz NHS bosses on hospitals' futures This meeting has been arranged so that members of the public can learn more about how Epsom, Sutton and St Helier hospitals intend to achieve foundation trust status.
  • Get Britain Breastfeeding art exhibition Infant Feeding Advisor Sue Taylor, and lead midwife, Carolyn Romer (from left)For one week only, St Helier Hospital will be home to a prestigious art exhibition about breastfeeding.
  • Celebrate Christmas with the League of Friends The League of Friends for St Helier and Sutton is organising a special Christmas celebration at Orchard House nursing home, 35 Hallmead Road, Sutton SM1 1RD on 11 December.
  • Mexican night for charity Epsom Medical Equipment Fund is organising a 'Mexican cantina' to chase the winter blues away on 26 January, 7pm at Los Amigos in Epsom.
  • New You - workshop for people with cancer Giving style and confidence when you need it most - a free interactive workshop for men and women with cancer.
  • Open days at the new Sutton dialysis unit The new unit will be open for you to drop in and enjoy a tour of the new facility. You are welcome to bring family or friends.
  • GP update at Epsom Hospital All healthcare professionals are welcome to attend. CPD certificates of attendance will be available at the meeting.
  • Study day: Promoting normal birth The women's health department at St Helier Hospital is organising a study day to promote normal birth, aimed at midwives and students.
  • Charity dinner The Epsom Medical Equipment Fund is organising a charity night to raise funds for purchasing medical equipment for Epsom Hospital.
  • Charity barn dance Epsom Medical Equipment Fund's annual barn dance, which is supported by the National Counties Building Society, will take place on 13 March, 7pm - 11pm, at Epsom and Ewell High School, Ruxley Lane, Ewell, Surrey KT19 9JW.
  • The EOC Orthopaedic Walk 2009 EOC walk, Nonsuch MansionThe Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation is inviting patients and friends to help support the charity by participating in the Elective Orthopaedic Centre (EOC) walk on 12 June.
  • St Helier redevelopment plans go on display St Helier redevelopment - Wrythe lane street viewWe would like to invite members of the public to an exhibition of the plans for the St Helier redevelopment project. The exhibition will take place between 19 and 21 January in the Re:treat Restaurant at St Helier.
  • Podiatry and footcare awareness event Logo Sutton LINkSutton LINk have been working with partners to improve footcare and podiatry services for local people. You are invited to come along to this free event and find out more about their work.
  • Big Band music event BBC Big Band guest conductor Jay Craig will be bringing his orchestra and vocalists to Nonsuch Park on 24 June.
  • 40 years Radio St Helier The Radio St Helier studioThis June sees the 40th anniversary of the inaugural programme broadcast to the patients at St Helier Hospital, on Radio St Helier, the hospital's radio station.

  • 100 year anniversary of Queen Mary's Hospital for Children 100 years Queen Mary's Hospital for ChildrenQueen Mary's Hospital for Children celebrated its 100th birthday on 29 January 2009. A programme of events, including a summer fete, is currently being planned.

  • Football match to support children's hospital on 20 May The match, which will kick off on 20 May at 7.30pm at the Sutton United sports ground, will feature players from the famous 1989 FA Cup game against Coventry and a team of celebrities who are yet to be announced.
  • 'Learning to live with cancer' course A free course to help local people deal with the devastating effects of cancer is being launched by experts at Epsom Hospital. The eight-week course offers practical advice and emotional support to cancer patients and their loved ones as they come to terms with the illness.
  • Barn dance fundraising event Barn dance in aid of Epsom Medical Equipment Fund, sponsored by the National Counties Building Society.
  • Neonatal unit open day 1 June Women's health building at St Helier HospitalThe neonatal unit, which is due to reopen in July, treats approximately 320 babies a year, ranging from a few days old up to about six months.
  • Nurses Week 11 and 12 May 2009 13-year-old patient Wallis Macdonald won a centenary poster competition which was open to patients in Queen Mary’s Hospital for ChildrenNational Nurses Week runs from 6-12 May 2009. The week draws attention to, and celebrates, the contributions that nurses and nursing make to the community.
