Local people, patients and the public are being invited to give their opinion on the latest designs for the redevelopment of St Helier Hospital.
With the Trust moving forward to making detailed planning applications to the council, the team in charge of the £219 million scheme are holding a dedicated exhibition in the hospital, with the latest plans on show for the very first time.
Tim Wilkins is the project director for the St Helier redevelopment. He said: "This is a real chance for our patients, their relatives and friends, and local people to meet the redevelopment team and get involved in helping us develop our proposals.
"We'll be asking people for their views on the designs for the hospital's brand new multi-level car park – the materials we should use, the colour scheme they like most, and the car park's overall appearance.
"There will also be a chance to look at how we plan to move our clinics from areas where the demolition will take place to Sutton Hospital, temporarily, so that we're ready to start knocking the existing building down in spring 2013.
"Visitors will also be able to view our proposals for a new day nursery at St Helier, which is used by staff.”
Tim added: "We're really keen to involve local people as we move forward with the redevelopment. This is your chance to have a say on our work so far and let us know what you think.”
Demolition work is due to finish in October 2013, with the redevelopment due to be completed and opened in early 2017.
