  • Latest figures show MRSA and C Difficile fall at Epsom and St Helier New figures released on April 24 by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) demonstrate how Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is reducing the incidence of healthcare acquired infections, including MRSA and C difficile, in its hospitals. 24 April 2008
  • Keeping those hayfever blues at bay Spring has sprung, bringing with it allergy problems for many people across Sutton, Merton and Surrey. Around one in three people nationally suffer from some type of allergy and 20% have problems with nasal allergies, including hayfever. 14 April 2008
  • Spotless ward leads to recognition for cleaner Adelino Faggotti and Samantha JonesA Cleaner based at Epsom Hospital has proved he doesn't need to polish up his act after winning a special award for excellence. Adelino Faggotti, who has been working for the Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust for two years, was nominated for the Chief Executive's Award of Excellence by patient Elfrida Spooner. 14 April 2008
  • Record number of patients use satellite centres Max CliffordThe number of patients using the Trust's renal satellite dialysis centres has topped 400 for the first time. The centres, based at Crawley, Croydon, Farnham, West Byfleet and Kingston, are used by patients from across south west London, Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire and save them from having to travel to hospital unnecessarily. 03 April 2008
  • St Helier Hospital gets a facelift St Helier Hospital is being given a £450,000 facelift in a bid to spruce up key areas of the 16 acre site. Last summer, a team of six decorators started an external painting programme which saw the main entrance, front and sides of the 1930s site getting a complete make over. 01 April 2008
  • Deep Clean is complete at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Deep clean teamThe biggest ever total deep clean of wards and clinical areas at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals is complete. Since the end of December, every ward at both sites has undergone a thorough clean as part of a national campaign by the Department of Health. 01 April 2008
  • Getting the right treatment over the bank holidays Doctors at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust are reminding patients to only use the hospital's two Accident & Emergency (A&E) department if they have an emergency or accident. Their message comes in the run up to the bank holiday periods, some of the busiest times for A&E departments. 01 April 2008
  • Thousands raised by volunteers for new scanner Epsom Hospital's ante-natal unit is the proud owner of a brand new £25,000 ultrasound scanner thanks to the Women's Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS). The portable device, known as a Sonosite Micromaxx scanner, checks the positioning of unborn babies and can help identify abnormalities. 01 April 2008
