  • Epsom and St Helier Hospitals deliver faster care Increased numbers of patients attending Epsom, Sutton and St Helier hospitals are starting their hospital treatment faster than ever before, statistics released today by the Department of Health reveal. 29 May 2008
  • Long service and outstanding practice recognised during awards ceremony Epsom RacecourseAlmost 200 staff and their family and friends gathered at Epsom Racecourse recently for the Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust's Employee Awards Ceremony. The annual event is a celebration of loyalty, dedication and recognition of special achievements. 23 May 2008
  • Trust raises awareness of home births The maternity departments at Epsom and St Helier hospitals are running a number of open days to make mums-to-be and their partners aware of the different options for where and how to give birth, in particular having their baby at home. Community midwives, as well as parents who have experienced home births, will also be available for prospective parents to speak to. 23 May 2008
  • Women and Children's Hospital Services Review A website has been launched to keep local people up-to-date with the review of women and children's services at Epsom and St Helier hospitals.   • Public air their views on services for women and children A total of 126 people came together at a 'deliberative event' initiated by Sutton and Merton and Surrey PCTs and the Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust last month to give their views on the future of services for women and children locally. 20 May 2008

  • Concerns about Diphtheria The Health Protection Agency has been responding to the death of a child who was originally treated at St Helier Hospital before being transferred to St Thomas' Hospital, Westminster for more specialist care. The most likely explanation for the child's death is an infection with diphtheria. 09 May 2008
  • NHS engages with local people on Women and Children's Services On Wednesday 30 April, the local NHS held a deliberative event at the Sutton Holiday Inn to engage with local people on the future of women and children's services at Epsom and St Helier hospitals. 09 May 2008
