St Helier Hospital A&E treats patients following chemical incident

At approximately 1.30pm today (20 November 2008), six adults were admitted to the Accident and Emergency (A&E) department at St Helier Hospital following a chemical spillage at a school in Wallington.
 
We are pleased to confirm that all of the injuries were minor and that the patients have since been discharged.
 
The Trust's two A&E departments and eye casualty treat approximately 130,000 patients a year and are fully prepared to deal with incidents of this nature.
