  • Refurbished gynaecology ward officially re-opens Linda Welford (ward sister), John Davey (Chairman), Paul Burstow MP, Jeanette Henessey (lead midwife), Samantha Jones (Chief Executive) and Dr Rim El-rifai (clinical director).The gynaecology ward at St Helier Hospital was officially re-opened last week (Monday 22 December) by the MP for Sutton and Cheam, Paul Burstow, following a refurbishment costing more than £440,000. 31 December 2009

  • Fulham FC plays a blinder with visit to children's ward Players from Fulham FC visiting Queen Mary's Hospital for ChildrenSick children staying in Queen Mary's Hospital for Children in Carshalton were given a boost last week, when players from premiership football team Fulham FC visited the hospital to donate Christmas presents. Players Brede Hangeland, Bjorn Riise, Andranik, Stephen Kelly and David Elm all arrived with handfuls of presents for the children, which they had paid for out of their own wages. 23 December 2009

  • Christmas comes early for children in hospital Lily and her carer Katy with her gift from SantaFather Christmas paid an early visit to the children being treated at Queen Mary's Hospital for Children last week, as he dropped by to deliver some presents.   • Parents remember their son with touching gift to hospital Mr and Mrs Hill with Dr KwanParents of a kidney patient who passed away last year have raised £500 for the renal department at St Helier Hospital, by asking their friends for a donation instead of a gift for their golden wedding anniversary. As Jenny and Brian Hill from Cobham in Surrey celebrated 50 years of marriage, they asked their friends and relatives to remember their son Andrew by making donations to the department that cared for him. 14 December 2009
