Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is paying tribute to its team of 500 volunteers this week, ahead of a special seven day celebration.
As part of national Volunteers' Week (1 - 7 June), the Trust would like to say a huge thank you to each person that gives up their time by supporting the day-to-day running of its hospitals.
Interim Chief Executive, Peter Coles, said: "All of our volunteers deserve a big thank you for all of their commitment and dedication. They contribute a huge amount to many aspects of hospital life at the Trust, from befriending and supporting patients to running the hospitals' shops and radio stations.
"We are incredibly lucky to have such a large team of caring and hard working individuals that are willing to help out in any way that they can. It's a brilliant partnership that we have, and I think I speak for everyone at the Trust when I say we are grateful to every volunteer."
Voluntary services manager, Lesley Scott is responsible for looking after the Trust's volunteers and voluntary groups. She said "Volunteering is a fantastic way of learning new skills and boosting self confidence, and so can be ideal for people that are looking to return to work, or looking to add new skills to their CV.
"I would encourage anyone who has some spare time to volunteer with the Trust. It is a great way to get involved and we have roles that suit people of all backgrounds. It also doesn't matter how old you are - our volunteers are aged from 18 - 93!"
