  • Trust set to star in ITV1 documentary Nicola RobertsonA brand new documentary that followed three of the Trust's trainee surgeons for eight months as they started work at Epsom, Sutton and St Helier Hospitals is set to be broadcast on ITV1 next week. Starting on 6 September at 10.35pm on ITV1, Surgery School is a three part, fly-on-the-wall documentary that will give viewers a unique behind-the-scenes look at the pressurised environment in which surgeons work. 27 August 2010
  • 'The Big Conversation' not quietening down Samantha Jones, Chief ExecutiveLast month, the Trust launched 'The Big Conversation' - a wide-ranging review into how the car parks at our hospitals are managed, and so far, more than 800 people, including patients, visitors and staff, have had their say. Now, due to popular demand, the Trust is extending the deadline for people to take part in the review. 26 August 2010
  • Hospital experts offer advice to travellers returning from Pakistan St Helier Hospital with familyInfection control and prevention experts at Epsom, Sutton and St Helier hospitals are preparing for the possibility of treating local people who have recently returned from flood-hit Pakistan. Heavy monsoon rains have caused serious flooding in many areas of the country, with over a thousand people reported killed and millions homeless. 25 August 2010
  • Trust re-appoints corporate high flier as non-executive director Janet SawkinsEpsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is pleased to announce the re-appointment of Jan Sawkins as a non-executive director. Jan, who first joined as a non-executive in November 2006, says she has seen significant changes during her first four years on the Board. 16 August 2010
  • Skin cancer experts call to cut VAT on sun cream Chris HarlandA skin cancer expert who works at Epsom, St Helier and Sutton hospitals is backing a campaign to cut the VAT paid on sun cream. The campaign, which calls for the government to slash VAT on sun cream from the normal 17.5% to a 5% levy charge, follows figures that show skin cancer is the UK's fastest growing cancer and the second biggest killer of young men under the age of 35. 12 August 2010
  • Top boy band wow hospital staff The WantedThe UK's current number one boy band, The Wanted, entertained 450 members of staff and volunteers from Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust recently, as they played a concert at Epsom Racecourse. The Trust received 450 tickets for the gig, which were then given free to employees and their guests. 05 August 2010
