The UK's current number one boy band, The Wanted, entertained 450 members of staff and volunteers from Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust recently, as they played a concert at Epsom Racecourse.

The Trust received 450 tickets for the gig, which were then given free to employees and their guests. The concert, which was headlined by band The Feeling and followed an evening of live horseracing, has been deemed a great success by staff members.

Shelley Walpole, the PA to the Head of Midwifery, said: "I was surprised and delighted to get tickets to the Epsom race night and to see The Feeling. It was a great night, despite the cold blustery weather. My friend and I had a fab time and the bands were fantastic. It was really nice to see so many other trust staff there too, with lots of faces I haven't seen in ages, all managing to have a catch up and all having a great time.

"I can't believe The Wanted have got so famous now - it seems like they've shot to fame overnight. I'm glad we got a chance to see them."

Donna Harris is a human resources manager for the Trust. She said: "It was a great night out. Everyone had a lot of fun, and it was an excellent opportunity for teams from across our hospitals to have a night out and socialise with each other.

"On behalf of everyone who went along to the concert and race night, I would like to say a huge thank you to the people at Epsom Racecourse, particularly Rupert Trevelyan, the Managing Director who so kindly provided us with the tickets."
