Non-urgent surgery

All (non-urgent) planned surgery (operations), including those on a 'day case' basis, has resumed on 3 December and is scheduled to go ahead as planned.

Urgent surgery

All urgent elective (planned) surgery is scheduled to take place as normal.

We will also be running extra trauma lists on Saturday and Sunday to catch up with patients on the ward who have been affected by the adverse weather conditions.

Outpatient appointments

The only outpatient clinic, Mr Hulme's trauma and orthopaedics clinic - has been cancelled and patients have been informed.

Accident and emergency services

Our A&E (accident and emergency) departments will of course remain open. However, people are asked to only visit if they have suffered a serious injury or accident, or have developed a sudden serious illness or medical condition.

It is important that people with minor conditions use alternative services to ensure we can focus on those patients who have more serious problems.

Look after yourself in the cold weather - keep warm, keep well.
