  • Summer fete raises almost £10,000 for children and baby units The face painting stall was a roaring success!The sun shone on the crowds on Saturday (24 July) as approximately 3,000 people turned up to enjoy a summer fete organised by friends and staff of Queen Mary's Hospital for Children and the neonatal unit at St Helier Hospital. The event, which took place in Sutton Arena and was opened by the deputy mayor, Councillor Sheila Andrews, was organised to raise money to buy new equipment for the children's hospital and neonatal unit. 30 July 2010
  • Cleaner sweeps to victory in national awards Jim KicksA cleaner and porter at Sutton Hospital has picked up a national award for his high standards of work and dedication to his job. Jim Kicks, who has been cleaning and portering at the hospital for more than 11 years, was given the 'UK Employee of the Month Award' by the company contracted to clean Sutton and Epsom hospitals, Sodexho. 27 July 2010
  • Trust buys time with new pharmacy prescription software The Trust's pharmacy department is responsible for all our inpatients and outpatientsThe pharmacy department at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust has embarked on an ambitious project to reduce the number of phone calls nursing staff have to make. From 1 July, new prescription software will mean that nurses, doctors and other medical staff at St Helier Hospital will no longer have to pick up the phone and call the pharmacy department to find out when patients' prescriptions are ready. 26 July 2010
  • Top job - the Elective Orthopaedic Centre gets national recognition Brian WellsThe Elective Orthopaedic Centre (EOC) at Epsom Hospital has been recognised in a national poll as one of the best employers in healthcare. The annual Healthcare 100 awards polled more than 35,000 health professionals to determine who the best employers in the business are, and thanks to the positive feedback from EOC staff, the centre came away with an award. 26 July 2010

  • Summer fete set to shine next week Bibi Vaughan won last year's fancy dress competitionA spectacular summer fete organised by staff at Queen Mary's Hospital for Children and the neonatal unit at St Helier Hospital is set to go ahead next weekend (Saturday 24 July) - and everyone's invited. The event, which will take place at Sutton Arena from 12noon until 4pm and will be opened by Sutton's deputy mayor, Sheila Andrews, is set to be a fantastic day out for all the family. 15 July 2010
  • Trust invites local people to have their say in 'The Big Conversation' Aerial view of the car park for patients and visitors at St Helier HospitalEpsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is asking patients, visitors and local people, as well as its staff and volunteers, for their views on car parking at Epsom, St Helier and Sutton hospitals. The review, called 'The Big Conversation', was launched on Monday (12 July) and means that people can easily give their views on a variety of aspects of parking at the Trust's hospitals. 14 July 2010

The online consultants' directory lists details of more than 200 Trust consultants and includes information on their backgrounds, medical training and areas of medical research and interest. 13 July 2010

  • We'll help you stay on the ball with new telephone call Appointments reminder posterEpsom, St Helier and Sutton hospitals are extending the reminder service they offer to patients, as people failing to turn up to their appointments continues to cost the Trust millions of pounds per year. Earlier this year, the Trust launched a messaging service which sends a text message to patients reminding them of their appointment details approximately one week before they are due in to the hospital. 12 July 2010
