  • Trust reveals £9.6 million investment plan Nick Gorvett, the Trust's Director of Corporate Infrastructure outside the newly refurbished Women's Health Unit at St HelierPlans to spend more than £9.6 million on improving facilities at Epsom, St Helier and Sutton hospitals have been unveiled by the Trust. The improvements, which will be funded by the Trust's capital development programme and will take place over the next 12 months, range from major refurbishments of ward and clinic areas to upgrades which are behind the scenes. 28 May 2010

Staff at the pub organised 12 special fundraising evenings, which included a James Bond theme night, to purchase a television for the ward. 27 May 2010
  • Celebration marks 75 blood donations for medical secretary Chris LloydA medical secretary at St Helier Hospital has been honoured at a special awards ceremony for giving blood a staggering 75 times. Chris Lloyd, who has worked at the Trust for 10 years, was invited to the NHS Blood and Transfusion's awards ceremony and presented with a Royal Doulton crystal plate, as a thank you for being a long-term blood donor. 25 May 2010
  • Want to stop smoking? There's an app for that Dr RahmanA doctor who specialises in treating lung conditions at Epsom, Sutton and St Helier hospitals has praised a new iPhone application that helps people to quit smoking. The official NHS app, which is called NHS Quit Smoking, provides daily hints and tips to help manage cravings. 24 May 2010
  • Trust improves results in national patient survey Inpatient survey results 2009An independent survey published on Wednesday (19 May) by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) shows that Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust has further improved the care it provides to inpatients. The 2009 NHS Inpatient Survey is an annual survey which hospital trusts across England use to assess the care and services they provide and to identify where improvements are needed. 21 May 2010

  • Get your voice heard about healthcare The launch of the Sutton LINkStaff at the Trust are encouraging local people to get their voices heard about healthcare by joining their Local Involvement Network (LINk). LINk groups give people the opportunity to influence the way health and social care services are delivered, which includes how your local hospitals and social services are run. 18 May 2010
