Non-urgent surgery

Due to the adverse weather conditions, all (non-urgent) planned surgery (operations), including those on a 'day case' basis, are cancelled on 1 December 2010.

All affected patients have been contacted directly and we will offer them a new appointment as soon as possible.

If you have an appointment for an operation and have not heard from us, please call 020 8296 3153 (between 8am and 5pm).

Outpatient appointments

Some outpatient appointments at Epsom, Sutton, St Helier and The Nelson hospitals have been affected by the snow and ice today.

We are contacting those patients affected directly.

Our phone lines are very busy today. If you cannot make your outpatient appointment, please re-schedule or cancel it online.

To check whether your outpatient clinic is running, please call the appointments centre on 020 8296 2968 (between 8am and 5pm).

Accident and emergency services

Our A&E (accident and emergency) departments will of course remain open. However, people are asked to only visit if they have suffered a serious injury or accident, or have developed a sudden serious illness or medical condition.

It is important that people with minor conditions use alternative services to ensure we can focus on those patients who have more serious problems.

Look after yourself in the cold weather - keep warm, keep well.
