The official record of how well Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust performed last year has been published.
The annual report, which contains detailed information about the service we provided to our patients during 2009-10, our finances and how well we did in meeting key Government standards, is available now to download. You can also contact the Trust's communications and corporate affairs team to receive a copy by post or email (see below).
Chief Executive, Samantha Jones, said: "The annual report is a summary of our work over the last year, including all the new and exciting things we are doing to ensure our patients continue to receive the best possible, safe care.
"2009-10 was a monumental year for us, with the Government approving our proposals to spend £219 million redeveloping St Helier Hospital and the Trust Board agreeing plans to spend up to £70 million improving the Epsom site.
"We have continued to perform well, meeting all the key standards the Government expects of us, from the amount of time patients spend waiting in A&E to the number of infections, like MRSA (bacteraemia) we have in our hospitals.
"The report also includes a summary of our financial performance over the year, which, I am pleased to say, was very good. We ended the year with a £2.9 million surplus, which will be reinvested back into improving our services.
"Importantly, we know that all of our achievements simply would not have been possible without the hard work, dedication and commitment of each and every staff member and volunteer. We owe the people who work for and support the Trust a huge thank you.
"I would encourage our patients, visitors and local people to take time to read the report and, if they have time, to let us know what they think of it."
