A memorial service for people who have been affected by the loss of a baby has been organised by the chaplains at Epsom, St Helier and Sutton hospitals.
The annual service will take place on Sunday 3 October 2010 at 3pm in St Nicholas Church, St Nicholas Way, Sutton, SM1 2RG.
Lead chaplain for the Trust, Reverend Sarah Sewell said: "This memorial service is for anyone who has suffered the loss of a baby. It is a short service that gives families the chance to remember their child in a supportive environment and everyone is welcome.
"Some people come again and again to this service and others simply come once - it is a very personal decision."
During the service, there will be poetry readings, music and a time for quiet reflection or prayer. Families may also wish to light a candle and have the name of their baby read out.
Refreshments will be served after the service and the chaplains will be on hand to offer advice and support, should people need it.
Sarah said: "For those who feel that they could benefit from coming to the memorial service, it is also a good opportunity to meet other people who have experienced a similar loss. After the service many people stay to chat with one another, remember their babies and share their stories."
