The Trust made its small screen debut last Monday, in a new ITV1 show called Surgery School. The second episode of this three part series will air tonight at 10.35pm on ITV1.
The fly-on-the wall documentary followed three of the Trust's trainee surgeons for eight months as they started work at our hospitals - and we hope you can tune in to see how they get on.
This is the first time that the Trust has given a documentary crew such access to our theatres and wards.
Surgery School is a series that gives members of the public a unique behind-the-scenes look at the pressurised environment in which surgeons work. It is also a rare opportunity to see the in-depth training trainees have to go through to become the surgeons of the future.
Taking part in the documentary has given the Trust the chance to demonstrate how proud we are to be teaching hospitals and how we help to train the doctors and surgeons of tomorrow.
Episode one followed junior doctors including the Trust's Rose Johns, Andy Al Rais and Nicola Robertson as they began their first year in surgical training at the Trust. Nicola, Andrew and Rose took part in their first operations and tackled the challenges posed by working in a busy operating theatre.
In tonight's episode, the trainees learn that they must get as much practical experience in the operating theatre as they can, but it is not always easy because of their duties on the wards. Furthermore, Rose has been living away from her home and fiance during her training and the separation is taking its toll.
The third episode will air next Monday (20 September), and you can catch up with the first episode on ITV Player.
