The organisers of a charity fashion show dropped in to Epsom Hospital recently to present the children's ward with a cheque for £1,000.

The event was organised by Surrey residents Georgina Potter and Becci Devonport to raise money for Casey Ward, where Becci's son Jack has recently spent time as a patient. Over 200 people attended the fashion show, which took place at Riddell Hall in Walton on the Hill in June.

Becci said: "Everyone at Casey Ward has done such a good job at looking after Jack, so this was our way of giving something back.

"The show was a huge success, and I'm delighted that our efforts are going towards making hospital visits for children a more pleasant experience."

The cheque and vouchers were received by the Trust's head of paediatric (child) nursing Pauline Fonteriz and Karen Kilday, the senior sister on Casey Ward. Karen said: "We are extremely grateful for this generous donation. It's a huge sum of money and everyone on the ward is thrilled.

"This money will go towards improving the environment of the ward, making it as enjoyable and comfortable as possible for our young patients.

"We'd all like to thank Becci and Georgina publicly for their hard work."

In addition, the two friends were also able to hand over £100 worth of vouchers for new toys and play equipment, courtesy of the Early Learning Centre.
