  • Please do not visit our hospitals if you have norovirus Norovirus posterDoctors at Epsom, Sutton and St Helier hospitals are asking local people not to visit the hospitals if they are suffering from winter-related viral infections in an effort to stop them spreading to patients.   • New treatment room opened in memory of 'one of life's nice guys' Renal consultant Dr Hugh Gallagher, Mike’s wife Wendy Carpenter and joint lead renal nurse Sue Woodcock in the Carpenter Suite.Family and friends of the late Mike Carpenter, formerly a committee member of the St Helier and Surrey Kidney Patients' Association, along with staff from St Helier Hospital's renal (kidney) department gathered together recently (10 December 2011) to open a new 'procedure' room named in his honour. 20 December 2011

The store has been running an appeal whereby shoppers are asked whether they would be happy to add £5 to their bill to pay for a teddy bear for children at Queen Mary's, which is based at St Helier Hospital. 12 December 2011

  • New emergency care unit gets VIP opening Janet cuts the ribbonLocal VIPs, hospital doctors, nurses and other staff gathered today (8 December 2011) for the official opening of Epsom Hospital's new acute medical unit (AMU). The AMU, which was launched in October following an investment of more than £742,000 across both Epsom and St Helier, plays an essential role in the hospital. 08 December 2011
