Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Laurence Newman as interim Chair from 1 August 2011.
Laurence replaces John Davey, who announced in March that he would not be seeking reappointment when his term of office came to end (31 July 2011).
Laurence, who has been a non-executive director with the Trust since December 2009, will cover until a permanent Chair is appointed.
Since John made his announcement, the Trust's strategic health authority, NHS London, has been working with the Appointments Commission to find a suitable replacement. Interviews are due to take place in mid-August.
Laurence is an experienced non-executive director and sits on the Board of three charities: The Waterways Trust; Commonweal Housing; and Creativity, Culture and Education. He is also a non-executive director of Grove End Housing Ltd.
