Tom joined forces with Radio St Helier volunteers, including station manager Kevin Horkan and presenter Chris Money, to take part in the light music show - a mixture of music, patient requests and current affairs. 24 October 2011
  • Your chance to learn about next steps for hospitals Janet SawkinsTwo further meetings have been arranged so that members of the public can learn more about how Epsom, Sutton and St Helier hospitals intend to achieve foundation trust status. This will see the hospitals de-merge and merge with others. The meetings, which take place next month at St Helier and Epsom hospitals, will also give local people the opportunity to ask any questions they may have about the process. 24 October 2011

  • Surgeon builds bridges in Malawi with Operation Hernia Mr Thomas demonstrates surgical techniques to a group of medics at Thyolo District Hospital, southern Malawi.A senior surgeon from Epsom, Sutton and St Helier hospitals has returned from a mission to Malawi which aimed to improve the way patients with hernias are operated on in what is one of the world's least economically developed countries. Consultant general surgeon Mr Paul Thomas, along with registrar Ms Caris Grimes, spent two and a half weeks stationed primarily at Thyolo District Hospital in the south of the country. 12 October 2011

The new ultrasound scanner, which was funded by the St Helier and Sutton League of Friends, can be used to examine any part of the body and help diagnose a wide range of illnesses. 07 October 2011

  • Royal Surrey withdraw from merger bid Epsom Hospital signOn 4 October 2011, we were informed by Royal Surrey County NHS Foundation Trust that they are no longer planning to bid to merge with Epsom Hospital and are withdrawing from the process. Royal Surrey's reasons for doing this are linked to their other strategic priorities and they have been very clear with us that it is no reflection on Epsom Hospital, our staff or the services we provide. 05 October 2011
