It's 'Your hospital' - more patients and local people wanted!

The special panel that was launched to give local people their say about Epsom, Sutton and St Helier hospitals has attracted nearly 100 members - but more are needed.

The 'Your hospital' panel, which was launched earlier this year, has already given patients and local people the opportunity to give their feedback on a wide range of issues, from what they think about plans to de-merge Epsom and St Helier hospitals to how they think our website should look.

And, although the number of members steadily grows, we want more local people to get involved.

Pippa Hart is the Director of Nursing. She said "As a Trust, we serve a population of more than 420,000 people and it's vital that our patients and local people help to shape the services we provide.

"We're really pleased to see such a healthy number of people have already joined 'Your hospital', but over the next few months, we want to see that number rise to 1,000 members. People who join will receive regular surveys about the work of our hospitals; all we ask is that they give us honest and frank feedback.

"In return, we promise to share the results in our regular newsletters and to let them know how their feedback is being used to change or improve the services we provide."

Members of 'Your hospital' will be asked to comment on a wide range of issues affecting clinical services across our hospitals and can specify what areas interest them, from maternity and care of the elderly through to cardiology and cancer. They will also be asked for feedback on non-clinical services, for instance the quality of hospital food and car parking.

People can also opt to comment on just one of our hospitals, or all thereof them.

Joining the 'Your hospital' panel couldn't be easier and it takes no more than three minutes: just visit www.epsom-sthelier.nhs.uk/yourhospital.
