A wide range of staff from Epsom, St Helier and Sutton hospitals gathered at the special evening on 28 September 2011 where they were presented with their certificates by Chief Executive Matthew Hopkins. 05 October 2011

  • Local hospitals announce Nurse of the Year Left to right Nurse of the Year Matron Maria Paterson, Nursing Support Workers of the Year, healthcare assistants Julia Kitchener and Jeanette Smith, and Nursing Support Worker of the Year runner-up Tracy Weekes.A long-serving matron at Epsom Hospital has been crowned Nurse of the Year at a special ceremony. Maria Paterson, matron for specialty medicine (which includes stroke, respiratory (chest) and cardiology (heart) care) at the hospital, picked up the award at a celebration to mark International Nurses' Day on 12 May. 31 May 2011
  • Cleaner sweeps to victory in national awards Jim KicksA cleaner and porter at Sutton Hospital has picked up a national award for his high standards of work and dedication to his job. Jim Kicks, who has been cleaning and portering at the hospital for more than 11 years, was given the 'UK Employee of the Month Award' by the company contracted to clean Sutton and Epsom hospitals, Sodexho. 27 July 2010
  • Staff celebrate in style at Trust annual awards Ruby Moore, midwife, mental health and substance abuse, St Helier HospitalAn annual award ceremony to celebrate the hard work, innovation and long service of staff from Epsom, St Helier and Sutton hospitals took place last week. More than 200 members of staff and their guests attended the prestigious awards, which were hosted at Epsom Racecourse on Thursday (17 June). 21 June 2010

  • Hard work pays off for hospital staff Yasmin Ashrafi and Michael BurdenAn awards ceremony celebrated the hard work of 50 members of staff from Epsom, St Helier and Sutton hospitals recently, as they all picked up either a diploma in management or a NVQ certificate. As well as being great news for the staff involved, it also means that the Trust is an even safer place for patients, staff and visitors. 20 October 2009
  • Volunteers receive bronze bars and thanks at ceremony Long service award winnersAn awards ceremony to celebrate the people who give up their free time to support cancer patients and their families at the Macmillan Butterfly Centre in Epsom Hospital took place last week. The ceremony marked the long service of 21 volunteers, as well as offering a huge thank you to the whole team of helpers. 25 August 2009

  • Leading dietitian scoops national recognition Kristina Zaremba - Dietitian of the yearA leading dietitian based at Epsom General Hospital has been crowned 'Dietitian of the Year' by a national charity. Kristina Zaremba who has been working in the field for the past 28 years, said she was delighted with the accolade, awarded to her by Coeliac UK. 01 December 2008

  • Spotless ward leads to recognition for cleaner Adelino Faggotti and Samantha JonesA Cleaner based at Epsom Hospital has proved he doesn't need to polish up his act after winning a special award for excellence. Adelino Faggotti, who has been working for the Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust for two years, was nominated for the Chief Executive's Award of Excellence by patient Elfrida Spooner. 05 December 2008
