The histopathology department provides histopathology and anatomical pathology diagnostic services to the Trust, GPs, HM Coroner and other healthcare purchasers in the southwest Thames and mid-Surrey areas.
Histopathology accepts a broad base of diagnostic material from the hospital, satellite hospitals and clinics, and local general practitioners, inclusive of native and renal transplant biopsies.
The histopathology department is committed to quality of care, and subscribes to nationally agreed standards of reporting and service delivery where defined and participates in quality assurance programmes pertaining to its activity where available.
The department is also committed to implement any future improvements in its service delivery depending upon new standards that become available and changes in its user base.
