Pathology has an IT service which supports pathology IT issues.

Services provided and supported include:

  • Telepath LIMS support and development.

  • Laboratory instrument interfaces.

  • Paper reporting of pathology results using FACT.

  • Order communications for pathology tests within the Trust, linked to iCM for all laboratory disciplines.

  • Patient demographics (ADT) updates for Trust patients from iPM.

  • Order communications for laboratory tests, for GP practices using Dart OCM.

  • Pathology results web browser service for over 100 GP practices and other NHS and non-NHS sites.

  • GP electronic reporting of pathology test results (also radiology examinations).

  • Data analysis, billing, ad hoc reports for the Trust and external customers using SQL server, Microsoft Access and Hypercube.

  • HyperCube development for Pathology.

  • Neonatal screening IT support.

  • Cytology reporting to the Primary Care Agency.

  • Web browser access to pathology results The pathology web browser for access to pathology results from Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is now available to external organisations that use the trust. Any NHS organisation using the services of the pathology laboratories from the Trust may apply for a login.
  • DART system for GP electronic requests Accessed via web links to your practice application, DART OCM orders pathology requests directly from the GP's surgery.

Pathology IT service does not include support for Trust PCs and WinTerms. Problems with these devices should be referred to the Trust IT helpdesk.
