Our staff

The renal unit is staffed by 13 consultant nephrologists, two tiers of junior doctors, renal nurses including a number of clinical nurse specialists, and a number of dedicated support staff, including a renal specialist pharmacist, social worker and dieticians.

The unit is also supported by a dedicated team of administrative staff and technical teams including IT and maintenance for all of our medical equipment.

• Dr Fiona Harris - clinical lead and lead for vasculitis

• Dr Ginny Quan - lead for adolescent interface, SpR training and home haemodialysis

• Dr Heather Jefferson - lead for pre-dialysis

• Dr Hugh Gallagher - lead for peritoneal dialysis, chronic kidney disease and IT

• Dr James Marsh - deputy medical director (St Helier site)

• Dr Mona Wahba - lead for clinical risk

• Dr Mysore Phanish - clinical lead for research

• Dr Pauline Swift - joint lead for haemodialysis

• Dr Peter Andrews - clinical director 

• Dr Vipula De Silva - lead for anaemia and renal bone disease

The clinical service is also supported by visiting surgeons from the renal surgical network based at St George's Hospital, including:

• Mr Eric Chemla - lead clinician for the vascular access program

• Mr Jiri Fronek - lead clinician for live donor transplants

• Mr Mohammed Morsy - lead clinician for renal surgery research

• Mr Nicos Kessaris - lead clinician for transplantation
