Women's health counselling service

We offer a dedicated counselling service for women attending the maternity or gynaecology departments.

The service sees women with issues related to pregnancy, both at the antenatal and postnatal stages, including any pregnancy loss. Women who feel isolated or are vulnerable, or have emotional, social or relationship problems, can be referred for counselling support at any stage throughout the pregnancy, and after the birth.

Support sessions

  • Antenatal network group – an informal, confidential group run by the women's health counsellor. Attendance is by referral. If you would like to attend the group, please tell your midwife at your antenatal appointment.
  • Counselling sessions after a traumatic delivery or experience.
  • Stop smoking service, offering one-to-one support.
