The chaplaincy team are always available to talk with patients and their families. Chaplains come from a number of different denominations and can also usually arrange for support from any of the major faiths.
If you would like a chaplain to visit you, please ask a member of the ward staff to contact us, we are available to all in the hospital.
Chaplains and volunteers from the team may visit your ward, please do feel free to talk to us at any time when we are there.
During your stay with us in hospital your own minister or parish priest may wish to visit you and of course they will be most welcome, it is customary however for the hospital chaplains to administer the sacraments to patients in the hospital.
If you have a relative or friend in the hospital, and they or you would like a chaplain to visit, you can call us on 020 8296 2306 and leave a message, or email chaplains@esth.nhs.uk. These are checked regularly during normal office hours so that a chaplain can arrange to visit as soon as possible.
If however there is a need for an urgent out of hours visit, please contact the hospital switchboard on 020 8296 2000 and ask them to page the on-call chaplain.
