We follow an equality and diversity action plan to help ensure that our workforce reflects the diverse community we serve.

  • NHS Equality Delivery System (EDS)The purpose of the EDS is to drive up equality performance and embed equality into mainstream NHS business. It was made available to the NHS on 29 July 2011.
  • Annual equality analysis reportEpsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is required to publish equality information which demonstrates compliance with the Equality Act 2010 in relation to the general and specific duties required of a public body.
  • Equality priorities 2012Through the use of the NHS Equality Delivery System (EDS), the Trust has identified a number of equality priorities for action.
  • People with disabilitiesWe are committed to the employment and career development of disabled people. To demonstrate our commitment, we use the Two Ticks disability symbol which is awarded by the Employment Service.
  • LGBT networkIn November 2010, the Trust launched a network to help support and give advice to members of staff who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT).
  • Black and Minority Ethnic networkIn June 2009, the Trust successfully launched a network for all staff with minority ethnic backgrounds or for anyone who has an interest in promoting Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) awareness.
