Lisa said: "It's certainly interesting! No two days are ever the same, so you never know what's going to happen from one day to the next. Because Samantha has an open door policy, she welcomes the views of every member of staff and volunteer and that often means the office is very busy. There are also hundreds of emails from members of the public, who can ask absolutely anything, and a lot of meetings to arrange.

"It can be difficult to plan my day ahead, because quite often new issues come in that need prioritising. It's almost completely impossible to get through the day without getting side-tracked.

"Although my days vary so much, there's one thing that stays the same: Samantha needs to be in the right place at the right time, with all of the right documents and information, and it's my job to make sure that happens.

"I'd like to think that behind every successful Chief Executive is a good PA!"

Lisa joined the Trust on 2 April 1991 as PA to the Director of Finance and has since then climbed the ranks to become PA to the Chief Executive, the Chairman of the Trust and, as if that wasn't enough, Lisa also manages the seven other executive director's personal assistants.

Lisa said: "The good thing about doing so many different things is that it keeps my job really interesting, and as they say 'variety is the spice of life'!"

So, after a busy day in the office, how does Lisa relax? "Relaxation? What's that?" she asked. "I have two teenage children, so I'm a courier, taxi driver and chef! But when I have time and when it's not raining I love gardening. I can't wait for summer to arrive so I can get back out in the garden!"
