    Junior doctors' industrial action

    Patients and visitors to our hospitals should be aware that the BMA have encouraged their junior doctor members to take industrial action from 8am on Wednesday 10 February to 8am on Thursday 11 February.

    We were extremely disappointed to read your representation of  the grant secured by the Maternity team at Epsom and St Helier hospitals (published online 29 January, titled ‘Epsom and St Helier midwives secure maternity funding, but campaigners fear for hospitals' future’), in which you took a very positive piece of news (given to you by our press team) and used it as an opportunity  to needlessly and irresponsibly call into doubt the future of our hospitals whilst undermining the achievements of our staff.

  5. Local hospitals making major investment in specialised maternity services

    Maternity services at Epsom and St Helier hospitals will be investing over £46,000 in additional services and support for pregnant women with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 30 and above, who may be at higher risk of experiencing complications.
