Signed, sealed, delivered – send season greetings and support Epsom and St Helier

The Fundraising Team at Epsom and St Helier recently launched a competition for patients in the children wards and paediatric outpatient departments, giving them the chance to put pen (or paint) to be paper and to see their winning design turned into the Trust’s first official charity Christmas cards, and the artistic submissions didn’t disappoint!

To help whittle down the entries to the four final designs, the hospitals set up an expert panel of judges featuring Medical Director and Consultant Paediatrician Dr Ruth Charlton, Consultant Paediatrician for Neonatal Dr Salim Yasin, Head of Patient Experience Adam Watkins and Michelle Sobihy, the artist who painted Casey Ward.

As a special thank you for their hard work, four special winners were invited to an award ceremony at St Helier Hospital, where our Chief Executive Daniel Elkeles and Director of Communications and Patient Experience Lisa Thomson presented the artists with a goodie bag including a framed copy of their artwork, a personalised bauble, a limited edition ESTH Hero badge and some biscuits.

Lisa said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to our amazing winners – Majka, Tom, Megan and Olivia – your winning designs are absolutely perfect, and will make a big difference to our hospitals. Thank you so much for taking the time to take part in our competition, and well done for being the artists behind our very first charity Christmas cards!”

The Christmas cards, which are £3.99 for a pack of 12, are on sale now at Casey Ward at Epsom, Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children at St Helier, the pharmacies and our Costa Coffee shops. For more information or to order cards, you can also email esth.fundraising@nhs.net.
