Volunteer Recognition Awards
Volunteers are an integral part of day-to-day life at Epsom and St Helier, and without a doubt make a huge difference to patients, visitors and staff. Our Volunteer Recognition Awards are our way of recognising the contribution and dedication of volunteers who have gone 'above and beyond'.
The awards are open to all volunteers across the Trust, including those who volunteer for one of the charities or support groups (Chaplaincy, Epsom Medical Equipment Fund, Friends of Epsom and West Park Hospitals, Epsom Hospital Radio, The League of Friends for St Helier Hospital, Macmillan Butterfly Centre/Cancer Information and Support Centres, Radio St Helier, and Royal Voluntary Services).
Awards will be given in the following categories:
- Volunteer of the year (voted for by patients, carers, staff and public)
Volunteer of the year is someone who goes the extra mile to help, consistently helping to make a real difference to patients, their carers or loved ones, visitors or staff. They embody the Trust's values, and treat everyone with respect. You are able to nominate any individual volunteer.
- Volunteer team of the year (voted for by patients, carers, staff and public)
You will be voting for the team of volunteers who work particularly well together, or who as a team have gone above and beyond in providing outstanding services and support. You are able to nominate any volunteer team.
- Volunteer champion (a member of staff who exemplifies how we seek to work with volunteers - to be voted for by volunteers and staff)
Working in partnership is a vital part of volunteering - the Volunteer champion is a member of Trust staff who best embodies this approach, welcoming, supporting and working closely with volunteers to ensure they have the best possible experience and helping them to make a difference. You can nominate any member of Trust staff.
- Special recognition (not open for nominations)
Throughout the year we receive a vast amount of feedback from patients, carers and visitors, sharing their positive experiences of Epsom and St Helier. A growing number of volunteers are named in such feedback - this award will be presented to the volunteer who has received the most/most outstanding feedback from patients, visitors and staff throughout the year.
- Outstanding contribution/lifetime achievement (not open for nominations - to be selected by the Volunteering Department)
This award will be presented by the Trust to the volunteer or volunteers who have made a significant contribution over a number of years through volunteering, demonstrating both commitment and excellence in their drive to support our patients and hospitals.
Nominations are open now
Please complete the form below by Friday 16 August to nominate an individual or team for an award. Winners will receive their award at our Volunteers Tea Party in September - an event to say thank you to our volunteers for all that they do for us
