Thanks to everyone who took part in our first Walk4Wards in celebration of 20 years of Epsom and St Helier.
We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did! Check out our gallery and see if you can spot yourself (images courtesy of Peter Struik and Mike Smith).
Back in April we launched our first ever Walk 4 Wards event - a seven mile fundraising walk between Epsom and St Helier hospitals, held to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our Trust.
More than 200 people took part and everyone who took part had a wonderful day.
Initial estimates put the fundraising at around £20,000. That was already an amazing figure and had smashed our target! However, the money just kept rolling in and it’s only just now that we have a final grand total…£29,000! With the Trust honouring its pledge to match the fundraising, that means Walk 4 Warders effectively raised £58,000!
This is way beyond our expectations but just goes to show what great support, generosity and loyalty there is out there for our hospitals. The wards/staff are now busy deciding how best to spend their Walk 4 Wards funds, all of which will go towards enhancing the care and experience of the patients they look after. So many thanks again to everyone who took part and look out for details on next year’s event – we hope to see you there!
