Ward routine

  • Ward rounds:

    Consultant ward rounds are at 8am, 12noon and 5pm. Please liaise with the nurse in charge about speaking to a doctor at other times. 

  • Nurses shift handover: 7.30am and 7.30pm 

Facilities on the ward

  • Number of inpatient beds: 8
  • Single/mixed sex: This ward is a specialist area, which means that, men and women will be treated alongside each other. This is to make sure they receive the best possible clinical care, ie nurses are able to safely monitor them.

Visiting the ward and restrictions for visitors

  • Visiting hours: 11am - 12.30 pm and 2.30pm - 8pm. Please contact the unit if you wish to visit a patient outside these hours.
  • Max visitors per bed: 2
  • Mobile phone policy: Mobile phones cannot be used and must be switched off.
  • Other restrictions for visitors:

    Please speak to the nurse in charge regarding children visiting. Visitors will be asked to leave during ward rounds, patient procedures and rest periods.
