  • Assisted conception unitThe assisted conception unit (ACU) at St Helier Hospital prides itself on being a small, enthusiastic and professional team, offering a very personalised and sensitive service to couples who are having problems conceiving.
  • Chronic Fatigue SyndromeThe chronic fatigue service at St Helier and Sutton hospitals is the local multidisciplinary team (LMDT) and clinical network co-ordinating centre for people with chronic fatigue syndrome in southwest London and Surrey.
  • Collecting stool samples for detection of occult bloodn order that your test results are as reliable as possible, please follow these precautions in the four days before collecting the first sample, and for the duration of the test (one collection on each of three consecutive days).

  • Dermatology (skin)The dermatology team comprises five consultants, specialist nursing staff, a specialist registrar, clinical assistants and a community dermatology nurse specialist. We provide treatment and care for a wide range of skin conditions.
  • Elective Orthopaedic CentreThe Elective Orthopaedic Centre is operated by the Trust in conjunction with neighbouring trusts on a partnership basis from Epsom Hospital.
  • Fasting for serum lipid determinationWe recommend that patients fast for at least 12 hours before coming in to have serum lipids measured. During this time, no food and no liquid other than water should be consumed.
  • Genito-urinary medicine (sexual health)The genito-urinary medicine department, located at St Helier Hospital, is available to anyone wanting advice and information about all areas of sexual health.
  • Oral and Maxillo-facial surgery for adultsWe are a referral service for dental practitioners and GPs. The backbone of our work is oral surgery for patients with underlying health issues or problematic extractions, dental phobics or anxieties.
  • Otorhinolaryngology (ear, nose and throat surgery)Ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgery can be required for a large number of conditions: from 'tonsils and adenoids', now a relatively rare operation, to the complex cochlear implantation for deafness or the treatment of head and neck cancer.
  • Patient information on Synacthen testsSynacthen test establishes whether your body is producing enough steroid hormone (cortisol). Cortisol is needed to keep blood sugar levels stable, look after blood pressure, and for our metabolism, immune system and fluid level balance.
  • Plastic surgeryWe offer a general plastic surgery clinic which includes hands, skin cancer and small breast surgery. We offer a high standard of care in a local setting, under local anaesthetic with full follow-up for wound dressings.
  • Stroke and transient ischaemic attack serviceThere are 18 stroke unit beds at both Epsom Hospital and St Helier Hospital, providing acute and rehabilitation stroke care. Both units have a stroke physician, specialist nurse, dietitian and full therapy team.
