We recognise that our staff are our most valuable asset, and their hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed.

We regularly reward excellent service with awards for individuals, teams and wards. Not only that, but we hold regular events that celebrate the hard work and acheivements of all at the Trust.

Trust Annual Awards

Our biggest award ceremony is the Trust Annual Awards that takes place in May. These awards enable any member of staff to nominate a colleague in a number of different categories. In nominating, you give an opportunity to recognise outstanding service: it’s a chance to say 'thank you' as well as giving that person or group the opportunity of winning a prize in the process.

There are a number of categories to choose from, so it’s easy to find the right category for the right person or team that you believe deserves recognition for their efforts.

Long Service Awards

We also host Long Service Awards, which celebrate members of staff that have worked at the Trust for a long time. Commemorative gifts are given to employees that have been with us for over ten years.

Chief Executive's Award of Excellence

Every month, the Trust presents the Chief Executive's Award of Excellence to a member of staff who has gone out of their way to deliver an exceptional standard of care. We welcome feedback from patients and visitors about staff who deserve special recognition for their efforts.

Other staff events

There is also a selection of ad-hoc events throughout the year. Recently, these have included the Trust ball, a dinner dance for all staff at Epsom Racecourse, as well as the centenary of the Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children and events to celebrate the 60th birthday of the NHS.

The Trust also holds Board Meetings every two months, which members of the public are welcome to attend.  Although not technically a public meeting, there is an opportunity for people to ask questions about the issues discussed at the end of the meeting.

There is also an Annual Public Meeting (APM), which gives members of the public the opportunity to attend and ask questions about any aspects of the Trust’s work.
