Do you know a fantastic nurse? Why not nominate them for an award at the ESTH Nurses and Midwives Day?

If you have been cared for by an amazing nurse, a magnificent midwife or want to shout about a nursing support worker at Epsom and St Helier, now is the time to let us know!

The Trust will be marking Nurses’ Day and International Day of the Midwife on Wednesday 8 May, and as part of the celebrations will be hosting a special award ceremony to recognise the efforts of staff who have gone above and beyond for the people they care for.

Chief Nurse, Arlene Wellman, said: “Nurses and midwives up and down the country do an amazing job every day – whether that’s in a life-saving, emergency situation or in a quiet moment trying to make a patient more comfortable, we sign up to make a difference – and that’s what makes our jobs so worthwhile.

“That’s why, for our award ceremony this year, we want to hear from you! Voting has been opened up to public in the form of our ‘patient’s choice’ award – which allows member of the public who have been treated by one of our fantastic nurses or midwives (please also note this includes healthcare assistants and staff from community roles and therapies) to nominate them for a special award!

“At Epsom and St Helier, we really value the input of our patients, and are constantly working to make our Trust one of the best in country for patient experience. This is why we want to include our patients in these awards – our staff would be so happy to hear that they made such a lasting impact on someone they have cared for – suffice to say the patient’s choice award will certainly be very sought after!” Please visit this page: https://www.epsom-sthelier.nhs.uk/nursing-and-midwifery-awards to nominate your choice and for further information.
