Chief Executive Jacqueline Totterdell to step down
Group Chief Executive of St George’s, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group (gesh) Jacqueline Totterdell is to step down.
After eight years at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and four at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust, Jacqueline will be taking up a new position as Chief Executive of NHS Wales and Director General of Health, Social Care and Early Years.
Jacqueline said: “While this new role is another wonderful opportunity, leaving gesh has not been an easy decision to make.
“Working alongside my wonderful colleagues has been one of the greatest privileges of my professional life. Their commitment, resilience, compassion and drive to improve care, often in the most challenging of circumstances, has inspired me every day.”
With a career spanning more than 40 years in acute hospitals, Jacqueline is of the most senior and experienced women in the NHS, leading one of the largest NHS Groups in England. She has been a champion of collaborative working and the acute provider collaborative, which she leads, is consistently one of the best performing nationally.
