A team of midwives and maternity support workers from Epsom Hospital completed the ‘Nuts Challenge’ military assault course on Sunday 2 September in order to raise funds for the hospital’s Maternity Unit.
Patients, visitors and local people are invited to have an exclusive look around Epsom Hospital and talk with the Chief Executive about plans for the hospital site – including the potential to build a new £250-300 million building on the hospital grounds.
The bereavement room in the maternity department at St Helier Hospital has been declared officially open after a £20,000 refurbishment, thanks to the amazing efforts of a local couple who launched a fundraising campaign after losing their daughter, Hope.
Pregnant women being cared for by Epsom and St Helier hospitals are now able to access all of their maternity medical notes, including details of any blood test results and reminders about their appointments (and soon, their scan reports), through a secure digital record that is available as an app.
Doctors at Epsom and St Helier hospitals have issued some useful advice to help you avoid costly or painful pitfalls, and stay safe and healthy abroad.
Chief Executive Daniel Elkeles said: “To ensure we are making the most of our estate and assets, we have looked at what land we have but don’t use, and the areas within our grounds that we will never need. This is known as estate rationalisation, and it’s something that all NHS trusts have been asked to do following the Naylor Report.
Summer is certainly in full swing and while the hot weather and sunshine is great for enjoying time outside with friends and family, doctors and nurses at Epsom and St Helier hospitals are urging people to stay safe in high temperatures and strong sunshine.
There was bunting, balloons and birthday cake at Epsom and St Helier recently, as staff from across the hospitals joined the NHS 70 celebrations.
