The playroom at Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children has been declared officially re-open, after undergoing a £10,000 refurbishment.

The Maternity Unit at Epsom Hospital recently received a cheque for £1,500 to go towards new equipment, thanks to the fundraising efforts of the children, staff and parents of the Bus Stop Pre-School in Bookham.

Local people affected by the loss of a baby or child are invited to gather on the green opposite St Helier Hospital at 7pm on Sunday 15 October for a minute’s silence and special commemorative event.

A local couple who lost their baby daughter, Hope, in August of last year have launched a fundraising campaign for the Maternity Department at St Helier Hospital.

Epsom and St Helier hospitals are opening their doors to all members of the public in a series of special events that will give people a chance to find out more about the long term future of the hospitals, and have an exclusive look at how ageing buildings affect services.

On Monday 10 July, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust published an engagement document which sets out scenarios for the future of the Trust beyond 2020.

St Helier Hospital is about to undergo a huge £12 million project to improve the comfort of patients, reduce carbon emissions and strengthen the exterior of the hospital.
