Take a peek at Epsom Hospital parking plans

Members of the public living near Epsom Hospital are invited to come and find out more about the Trust’s plans for additional parking on the site at a drop-in information session on Thursday 12 September from 3pm – 7pm.

Taking place in the Ingredients Restaurant (on the 2nd floor of Wells Wing, F block), the drop-in session will give local people the opportunity to hear about plans to improve parking facilities at the hospital, including a proposal for a multi-storey car park.

Trevor Fitzgerald, Director of Estates, Facilities and Capital Projects, said: “Our hospitals get busier every year, and in order to keep up with demand on our services and ensure our hospital is accessible to all, we need new parking facilities for patients, visitors and staff. In addition, we will soon be closing a small car park towards the back of the hospital site (near the Woodcote Road entrance) as plans to create a modern, later living village, develop.

“Our proposals for a new car park will consolidate parking facilities, reduce queues into and out of the current car park (which can sometimes run onto Dorking Road and cause congestion for commuters and those not driving to the hospital) and improve access to our services. We know that parking can be a hot topic for patients, staff and visitors, and so we are offering an open invite to all who might be interested.”

The Estates and Facilities Team will be on-hand throughout the event to answer questions and listen to the feedback from patients and nearby residents. There will also be a number of information stands and drawings of where the multi-storey car park will potentially be built, and architect drawings of what the final product might look like.

All of the information from the event will be added to our website shortly after the event, so if you are unable to attend the event but would like to know more, please keep an eye on www.epsom-sthelier.nhs.uk, You can also send us feedback and comments by email at esth.communications@nhs.net or by post to: Rebecca Stone, Estates Projects Department, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals, 70 East Street, Epsom, KT17 1HB.
