What to do if you or a loved one falls ill over the Epsom Derby weekend

What to do if you or a loved one falls ill over the Epsom Derby weekend

People are being urged to use the NHS wisely as one of the world’s biggest horse-racing festivals takes place this weekend.

More than 100,000 people are expected to visit Epsom for the Oaks and the Derby this Friday and Saturday, which can increase demand on local NHS services.

Please stay safe by drinking responsibly, keeping yourself hydrated with non-alcoholic refreshments and do look out for others.

If you have an urgent medical need, use NHS 111 online so you can be directed to the right place to get help: https://111.nhs.uk/

If you have a minor injury or illness, a local pharmacy can give advice, and some are able to offer prescription treatment for certain conditions.

To find one near you visit: https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/pharmacy/find-a-pharmacy/results/Epsom

If you or someone with you has a serious/ life-threatening emergency, visit an Emergency Department or call 999.
