Heart Conditions

This section covers conditions that affect the heart and cardiovascular system.

Cardiovascular Diseases (General)

Cardiovascular disease The cardiovascular system includes the heart, blood, and blood vessels. The heart is a vital organ and the health of your entire cardiovascular system is extremely important. There are lots of ways that the cardiovascular system can become damaged and cause issues with your health, sometimes these issues can be fatal like in the case of a stroke or heart attack. We usually have good control over the health of our cardiovascular system. For example, improved lifestyle choices can help with issues like hypertension (high blood pressure), but unfortunately there are cardiovascular related diseases, like leukaemia (blood cancer), that cannot be prevented. The resources under this section should provide you with guidance on various heart related health issues.
