Epsom and St Helier hospitals is on a mission to recruit nurses

Epsom and St Helier hospitals are throwing open their doors and welcoming all nurses and trainee nurses for a dedicated Nurse Recruitment Day this Saturday (16 February) from 9am to 2pm.

Taking place in the Eye Unit on the ground floor of B block of St Helier Hospital, the drop in recruitment day will showcase the exciting job vacancies available at the Trust, give people the chance to meet members of the nursing team as well as the chance to discuss the exciting career development opportunities at Epsom and St Helier. Our Chief Nurse, Arlene Wellman, will kick off proceedings with a short presentation at 9.15am about the current opportunities at the Trust, and will share her personal take on why she decided to pursue a career in the NHS (followed by a Q&A session). What’s more, job interviews will be taking place on the recruitment day – you may even get a job offer on the day!

Arlene said: “Epsom and St Helier is a great place to work, to learn and to develop your nursing career. We have a great team with a bright and busy future, and now is the perfect time to join us! Across the country, nurses do so much for patients every single day and it all contributes to make a very real difference to people’s lives – so why not come along and find out more about making a difference for the people living around Epsom and St Helier.

“I hope that many people will come along to meet our team and gain an insight about our hospitals and the roles we are recruiting for. If you are interested in visiting any of our clinical areas, we can arrange tours. Refreshments and free parking will be available on the day, so make sure you add this event to your dairy!”

The Trust is also offering a ‘refer a friend’ bonus that could lead to a £1,500 bonus for you and your friend. If you are a qualified clinician and know a member of staff at the Trust who would recommend your services, you could both earn up to £750 each on top of your regular salary – terms and conditions apply. Full details will be available at the open day.

Our staff benefits include:

  • Preceptorship course for newly qualified nurses
  • Ongoing support from our professional development team
  • Progression courses to help you move to a higher band once you are ready
  • Access to specialist courses suitable to the nursing career pathway you choose
